Get out charts! Get out your herbs and herbal medicines! This course covers the health strengths and weaknesses of each astrological sign. Make the best of your own astrology, deepen your chart reading abilities, and expand your herbal wisdom.

The material covered in this course is in-depth. It supplements and adds new information to the insights found in their world-famous books.

Not only is the information useful in individual cases, it also leads us to new ways of thinking about herbalism and astrology.

Course Outline

Judith Hill (prolific author, astrologer, and herbalist) and Matthew Wood, MS, discuss each sign of the zodiac in-depth. Each two-hour and 15-minute class (a couple of classes will be longer) includes:

  1. the traditional medical rulerships and associations of the sign with regions, organs, systems, and functions
  2. psychological themes important from a medical angle
  3. planetary rulers of the sign and their medical associations
  4. the health effect of planets in the sign (This is an exhaustive topic of its own so only some planets may be addressed.)
  5. herbs associated with the sign or ruling planet
  6. observed medical idiosyncrasies of the twelve signs (Davidson, Cornell, Hill, others)
  7. new insights generated by this unique approach. 


The series ends with the analysis of example charts from history. In class #13, we look at the astrological medical charts of famous people. These examples illustrate the principles of medical astrological analysis from the natal or birth chart.

I loved the class! I wasn't sure what to expect even though I'm very familiar with Astrology. Things made more and more sense as it progressed. The Sign syndromes as potential clusters of themed disorders makes a lot of sense practically. I had a lot of "Aha" moments associated with people I know personally. The insights were many times realized not only looking in retrospect but also adding additional information and even seeing new possibilities all backed by signs and symptoms. The class also laid down some important caveats on how herbs should best be approached in this system and some important differences between planets, signs and houses. This is a far superior system than solely trying to group herbs by planets or by one sign. Lots to watch again and I'm eager for more. I have already used the ideas from the class for TCM/Sinew channel exercises/Lifestyle changes with some results as Astrology concepts can work across different systems. This was a great class! Thank you!
